Beautiful Saturday

I started my Saturday off pretty slow but once I got started it turned out to be a quite productive day. We have lived in our current house on the farm for 3 years and the last two summers have been very, very hot and dry so my gardening ventures have not been successful by any means buuuuut this summer WILL be different. I planted several pots with flowers and got a tomato plant from our local nursery that already has tomaotes. Yes, this is true!!! It was the best $8 I have spent in a while!

How beautiful is that in April!? I also had a visitor for about 30 minutes. She (I don’t know anything about butterfly gender haha) was quite compliant for pictures, I think maybe a bit of a show off!

Isn’t she a beauty? I think she was quite hungry, as she stayed around for a while. I also got these at our local nursery. They were having an open house and the selection was huge. I love the delicate flowers and the bright colors on this viola violet.

Our garden is quite large so there will be many posts to come about this. I hope that everyone was able to enjoy their Saturday and the amazing spring weather!

Helllllllllllllo!!

Hello all!!

I’ve contemplated starting a blog for a while now. I enjoy reading so many other blogs and feel this may be a good way to continue exploring my creative side. I work in the mental health field and it only reinforces for me the importance of taking time for yourself. Lately I’ve been cooking, running, and crafting. I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily great at any of these things and exploring each of these will be my “me time” and I figured why not share it! Maybe it could be fun and I might learn a thing or two… I will share the above mentioned things but also life around the farm, things I find interesting, and whatever strikes my fancy at the time.

I have been trying some new products lately and I wanted to start off by sharing…

One of them is something I discovered through my mother-in-law. I have been meaning to find an exfoliator for a while. It’s the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub. My MIL has almond honey and I have cucumber lime. It smells delicious. I found this at Wal-Mart for about $7, definitely worth it!! It leaves my skin silky smooth and eliminates dry patches. I also received a product in my Birch Box this month that is an exfoliator that I will try out soon.

Next, I have always loved MAC make-up and always find something each time I go but this time I really found a gem… it’s a new product and they were sold out of every other color. It is similar to something I have used for 3 years now but I love the goldish color and that it is a liquid powder. If you like a dewey skin look, I highly recommend this for you.

Lastly, I actually got this product in a Clinique free gift and had not had a chance to use it yet. I will definitely be purchasing the full size product. It’s the Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense Moisturizer. Again my face is combination so I need something to even out the dry areas. This goes on nicely, not too think or too thick. Just right! It’s a bit expensive but I find that you don’t need much of it and other Clinique Moisturizer’s I’ve had last for a while.

I hope you get a chance to give these awesome products a chance! I have linked all but the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Body Scrub.
